Call for Papers: Quality traps? Multidisciplinary analyses and comparative studies of quality policies in Higher Education Conference, Liege, Belgium (6-8 June 2012)
The conference “Quality Traps? Multidisciplinary analyses and comparative studies of quality policies in Higher Education” will take place at the University of Liège (Belgium) from 6 to 8 June 2012.
The organisers note that present research points to a “swift expansion of evaluation and quality certification tools” in HE policy, particularly in Europe where, under the Bologna process, universities have “anchored such new tools” in the heart of their higher education policy. They also note that this trend requires more independent multidisciplinary research. On 9 and 10 December 2011, an international seminar took place at the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Mons, Belgium, where a first review of the situation was made by confronting analyses coming from several sciences.
The international conference on “Quality traps?” will be held in Liège (6-8 June 2012) on the basis of this work. In addition to the scholars who took part in the first seminar, the conference will welcome about 20 researchers selected amongst those who answer to the Call for Papers and suggest an original paper related to one (or several) of the 10 research axes of the conference.
The deadline for submissions is 29 February 2012.
